Long time, no blog.
Last weekend my mom and I were supposed to go to a wedding in Ohio. I was her date. So we got packed and headed out Friday night. As soon as we checked in and went through security, we noticed ominous, dark clouds rolling in. It was a matter of minutes before the thunder and lightening started.
Turns out the plane we were supposed to board hadn't even left for our airport yet. We were going to be seriously delayed. We hung out having adult, uninterrupted conversation for the next hour (which was like a mini vacation in itself!).
Long story short, (too late, you say!) they couldn't get us to Ohio, not even if we went Saturday instead.
So, we began to think up other options.
We got our bags back and headed out to a really nice Asian-fusion kind of place and had a late dinner.
She dropped me off back at home. But that's not all! Saturday, she and I left for a big town about 1 1/2 hours from here for a little shopping and eating trip sans children. I mean, Hubs already had it in his head that he was flying solo, so why waste it?
We had the best time! It was so bizarre not to be on a schedule. To be able to come and go as we pleased, not having to cut anything short because someone needs to eat or nap or be changed. It was even stranger to be able to eat in a restaurant that didn't serve your drink in a plastic cup and give you paper napkins. I think we need that every once in a while.
And! I came back with a new computer! Don't worry-hubs told me to get it. Ours has been on the blink for a while now. I will post later about the amazing experience I had at the Apple store. Those people are good. Anyway, so now, our new baby is home, plugged in, and purring contentedly. I think he likes us, too.

A group from our church was stranded in your area on their way to Argentina to do missions work. I thought of you when I heard that, knowing (from your Hubs' blog) that you had been stuck too. :) Glad you had a great time anyway!
How funny! (Not funny haha-because being stuck isn't fun, but funny coincidence!)
Did they make it to their final destination?
Sounds like heaven to me:)
Do some eateries really use cloth and glassware? I need to get out more! lol
Tell us more about the place with the cloth napkins - and some other places. I've tagged you for the Dining Out meme. Come on over and see.
